Howard Griffith and David Diaz-Infante have joined tha AllSportRating team as Premier Associates. Both David and Howard have shared a goal of elevating young people, and have spent their respective careers doing just that. Now, with AllSportRating, they see a perfect fit for blending their passion for sports and serving youth.
David Diaz-Infante
David’s career has certainly been unique. Considered “The Ultimate Underdog”, the the Washington Times saying, “perhaps no player in Super Bowl history has traveled a harder path than Diaz-Infante.”
David made his debut with the San Diego Chargers during the 1987 players strike and did not play another NFL game until the 1996 season. Diaz-Infante honed his football skills between NFL stints by playing in the World Football League, Canadian Football League, and the XFL.
David played for the Denver Broncos from 1995-01, where he won two Super Bowl Championships: Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII. Since retirement from the NFL, David has been one of the most recognizable media personalities in the Denver area and a role model for Hispanics across the country. Currently, he hosts a regional sports/entertainment radio show on KOA in Denver.
David also is the color analyst for the Denver Broncos broadcasting team as well as John Elway’s arena football team, the Colorado Crush. Diaz-Infante also works as an NFL analyst for Fox Sports Net and is the Monday Morning Quarterback on the WB network.
Howard Griffith
As the starting tailback for the Denver Broncos, Howard lead the way for Terrell
Davis and has gained a reputation as the consummate team player. He played a
central role in the two Super Bowl Championship victories garnered by the Broncos in ’97 and ’98.
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Howard Griffith decided at 17
that football would be his life. At Julian High School Griffith realized he had what
it took make it to the next level. His game plan was set – he dedicated himself to
making the dream of becoming a professional athlete a reality. Howard made the costly mistake of ignoring his grades, spending most of his time concentrating on sports. When the time came to move on to the college level, Griffith was overlooked by the one and only university he was interested in attending-
the University of Illinois.
Determined to play in the Big Ten, Griffith turned down offers from smaller
lesser-known universities. Instead he opted to enter Illinois as a Proposition
48 walk-on, which required that he prove himself academically and forgo his entire freshman year.
After years of hard work, Griffith’s star finally began to rise on the field of the
Fighting Illini. He had become the starting tailback, leading his team-which included NFL players Jeff George and Henry Jones-to victory after victory. It was in that final 1990 season that Griffith became a nationally known athlete when he broke Red Grange’s NCAA record of seven touchdowns in a single game. Griffith scored eight touchdowns in a single game making him a sought after choice of NFL scouts.
After playing in the NFL for nine years, Howard now makes frequent appearances for various charities and lends financial support to the Chicago Public Schools’ football program.
With their wealth of real world experience, David and Howard will undoubtedly be very effective in helping AllSportRating athlete’s realize their dreams – from setting a game plan to accomplishing the ultimate victory.
And most importantly, they’ve demonstrated through their own life experience, the importance of being a team player, and what it means to be an integral part of contributing to the whole.
